Doug was my lab partner in Bio. He was always so sweet and he saved my butt in that class!

One of my best friends and the most talented drummer
Salem ever had.

I remember Doug being a total sweetheart. Quiet as anything, though. He helped me pick up my books when they went every which way. No mess or fuss and he kind of joked about it and made me laugh. I knew him for a long time, but I never really knew him. I regret that.

I could write volumes about Doug. We met in 5th grad during band. I thought he was god after seeing him on drums. We became close friends in Jr. Hi. Later, he was the drummer in my first two bands, Tempest and Oh Oooooh. We'd debate religion and philosophy and music. He introduced me to Rush. I introduced him to Yes and King Crimson. Even after many years, I still viewed him as god on the drums.

After Hi School, we still hung out a lot, dating girls who were best friends, hanging out in JR Thornton's hunting cabin, goofing off. He was drummer for one of the greatest goth bands you never heard of: THE MURR. (Adam Maxwell was on guitar.)

Doug was one-of-a-kind. He was my brother. He was a monster on the drums and the best friend you could ever have.

Damn, I miss him.
