What a shame. I'm really sad to hear this. I really liked Sid.

We spent a lot of time listening to music. At one point I loaned Sid my Thelonius Monk and Miles Davis albums. Shocked was I while driving along Washington Ave listening to Sid's Sunday afternoon show on WDDT and hearing "Round About Midnight" by "Monk and Kind of Blue" by Miles. We're talking hard core "progressive jazz".

Shocked and then thrilled. Small victories are the best.

I hope that Sid's family carries on well and my condolences to my friend Roy.

Sid was a good friend at GHS, then I lost touch for a few years until he showed up at Millsaps one Saturday night and played and sang for an hour or so in the basement of the Student Union building.  Sadly that was the last time I spoke to him, but I was browsing through folk music in a Boston store in the late 60's and there, right behind Pete Seeger, was Sid's first album.  I thought "Way to go Sid!"
