Robert Houston

 

 

 

Robert E. “Bob” Houston was born September 26, 1939 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Ben and Evelyn Houston.  Bob was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy, Army, and Air Force, retiring at the rank of MSgt.  He was a husband, father, entertainer, magician and “Zero the Clown”.  Bob attained the rank of Eagle Scout, earning 92 merit badges in his youth.  He loved making anyone, regardless of age, color or national origin, laugh.  Bob was a member of St. Jude’s the Apostle Catholic Church and the Jacksonville Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.  He was honorably discharged to heaven on March 27, 2021.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Dr. Cathryn L. Pentecost. 

Bob is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Cynthia M. Houston; son, Robert, Jr. (Sue); daughter, Marji Houston; granddaughters, Sarah Manrriquez (Nick) and Ivie Bartee.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021 at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Arrangements by Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, 501-982-2136.
