Steve was a very shy but sweet guy. I remember him mostly from our times growing up at First Baptist Church. The last time I saw him was at our 30th class reunion at the old E.E. Bass auditorium.

STEVE STARTED NAVY BOOTCAMP IN ORLANDO FL. ABOUT THE I WAS LEAVING BOOTCAMP... OUR LIVES LATER CROSSED AT NAS PATUXENT RIVER, MD. AND AT NAS BRUNSWICK, ME. STEVE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND A JOKE ON HIS LIPS. AFTER THE NAVY, STEVE FOUND OUT FROM A GREENVILLE NEIGHBOR THAT ROADWAY EXPRESS TRUCKING WAS HIRING... HE APPLIED AND TOLD ME I OUT TO APPLY, WHICH I DID. WE BOTH ENDED UP WITH A CAREER WITH ROADWAY EXPRESS. UP UNTIL 1998, WHEN I LEFT THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY, I WOULD MAKE CONTACT WITH STEVE BY PHONE... HE SEEMED HAPPY AND ENJOYED HIS FAMILY AND CHURCH. HE IS MISSED...Byron Jackson
