Dale Ann Belue/Bevins (Roberts)

Dale Ann was my "bestest" friend. She loved movies and romance novels. For years she and Tommy lived in Metairie, outside New Orleans. Every Christmas she'd call and ask what I was cooking for Christmas; she could not eat much because of her illness but tasted everything. She loved Greenville with a passion; she couldn't wait to move back. Losing her two girls at one time in a car accident took a lot out of Dale. I miss her so much.

Dale Ann and I met in Jr High (EE Bass).  We were close during our Junior year.  I would ride w/her to a store near the Indian Mounds. This store was special because it carried that horrible tasting cola, Diet-Rite. Her favorite, not mine.  We walked together in the Magnolia Chain. We'd had a lot of fun, even in practice.  Summer came and we went our different ways, however, later in the summer she called from Michigan to tell me she was married. The last call from her was to tell me she was expecting a baby. I didn't even know she had passed until I attended a mini reunion at Lynda Dickerson's home. No one seemed to know what happened to her. She suffered badly from allergies, and I wonder if this may have been a contributor to her death. Dale Ann--Thank you for the sunshine you brought into my life.

I was one of her nurses in the critical care unit at King's Daughters Hospital. Dale was always very sensitve about her weight. She was married to someone in the military, Air Force I think. She had one of the first stomach stapling procedures done in this country. I was a very bad procedure with many, many problems.
Dale had bad problems with scar tissue in her abdomen. It was so bad that normal function wasn't possible. She had several surgeries to relieve this and she was unable to heal properly. She was in our unit and her abdomen was open. She died a terrible deathwith a lot of pain until she went into a coma. We weren't able to stop her pain completely because if we had given her enough medicine to stop the pain it would have killed her. This is going to sound odd but there are worse things than dying. I was relieved when she went into a coma becuase I knew she wouldn't hurt any more. I am very sorry that she died but I felt that living like that isn't really living. dkuhn

After all these years, I have learned recently that Dale Ann lost two teenage daughters in a car crash. How awful for her!   My consolation is that she's with them in heaven.
