Julia Deason (Tipton)

Julia Tipton TUPELO - Julia "Judy" Tipton, 64, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at her residence. She was born Aug. 27, 1943, in Greenville to the late James Carlton and Beatrice Baker Deason. She graduated from Greenville High School and then went on to Delta State University, where she earned her associates degree. A creative and artistic person, she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, fishing, playing bingo. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, sister and grandmother. She was a member of Swiftwater Baptist Church in Swiftwater. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Frank Breaux and Bro. Dale Carr officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Danny Tipton (Martha) of Nettleton; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Tipton Ward (Claude) of Blytheville, Ark.; four sisters, Joyce C. Deason Williams of Dousa, La., Jane C. Deason Nail (Bobby) of Kilmichael, Sybil Allen, of Birmingham, Ala., and Deloris Hissan of West Helena, Ark.; one brother, James Carlton Deason Jr., (Lois) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Clarence C. Ward and Joseph J. Ward, both of Blytheville, Ark., and Parker R. Tipton of Nettleton; her special friends, Jo and Bruce Gresham of Tupelo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bessie Lee Gibbs. Pallbearers will be Barry Kelly, Eddie Hester, Stan Akers, Jimmy Carter, Gregory Gibbs and Brandon Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Ederer, Bruce Gresham, Dan Tipton, Sr., Doug McGraw, Robert Tipton and Billy Gibbs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Mississippi Breast Foundation, P.O. Box 217, Rolling Forks, MS 39159.

Mary Anne Hall (Walters)

Judy was my neighbor on Chatham Dr, and we rode the same "yellow dog" to school. She became a close friend of my Aunt Jean. My AUnt Jean still praises her kindness.
