Richard W. Rhoden, 74 of Greenville, MS passed away on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Delta Regional Medical Center. He was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School. Richard and his wife Minnie Bell Brantley Rhoden have been married just shy of 51 years. Richard was a well-known artist in the Mississippi Delta. He began his career framing pictures at his parents’ business, Rhoden’s Glass Service, as a young man. He pursued his passion for art and expanded his talents as he opened his own stained-glass studio, The Glass Rainbow over 30 years ago. His keen sense of design and remarkable command of the color pallet led him to a rewarding career as a stained-glass artist. His works can be found throughout Greenville and the world in residential, commercial and religious buildings of all types. Richard was known for his quick wit, love of people, enjoyment of gardening, but most of all his deep love and devotion to his wife “Bee.” He was immensely proud of his daughter and grandchildren, telling stories and showing pictures to anyone who would stand still to listen.  

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lucille Rhoden and brother Edward Rhoden. He is survived by his wife Minnie Bell Rhoden, daughter Amie Clark, and grandchildren Ashland Clark, SaraGrace Clark and Shaun Patrick Clark. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at First Methodist Church Greenville, MS. Visitation will be at 1:00pm with services to follow at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. Internment will take place at a later date. The service will be lived streamed virtually through Greenville First United Methodist Church Facebook page for those unable to attend in person. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following charities in Richard’s name: Greenville Arts Council, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Rest in Peace, Richard. You will always be in our hearts, my old friend. Minnie, our hearts are broken for the loss of your best friend. Be of good cheer, sweetheart, he is at rest in the presence of the Lord, and we will all see Richard again some day soon...
