I've tried to find an obituary but I haven't found one yet.  All I know is she passed away on Friday August 1, 2025 after a fall.     As soon as I can find any information I will pass it on.   
 

she was a precious classmate and she will be missed.

Elizabeth Teunisson Rice of Columbus, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by loved ones after a life marked by devotion to family, education, and community service. Elizabeth was married to John A. Rice III for many loving years. Together, they raised their daughter, Anna Conwill Rice (Connie), who resides in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Elizabeth was also the proud grandmother of Mabry Ann Moss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John H. Teunisson Jr., of Greenville, Mississippi. Her beloved grandparents included Mr. and Mrs. Heard L. Murphy of West Point and Mr. and Mrs. John H. Teunisson Sr. of Amite City. Elizabeth was a graduate of Greenville High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Education in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where she was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She remained active as a member of the Northeast alumni group and the Ole Miss Alumni Association and University of Mississippi Loyalty Foundation. A passionate educator, Elizabeth dedicated 18 years to teaching in the Columbus Municipal School District, instructing 7th grade pre-algebra and general mathematics at Hunt Junior High and Lee Middle School. From 1995 to 2006, she served as a team leader at her school. Her love for her community was evident in her extensive service. She was a life member of the Columbus Junior Auxiliary and served as president and member of the Woodland Garden Club. Elizabeth was a board member of the Delta Debutante Club, a former board member of the Columbus Country Club, and a devoted member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild. In addition to her work in education and civic life, Elizabeth was a Licensed Independent Insurance Agent and served as secretary for the Searcy & Rice Agency, Inc. Elizabeth Rice will be remembered for her steadfast dedication to her family, her students, and her community. Her legacy of service, leadership, and love leaves an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
