Lynn, You should be able to throw down by then! Scooter and Rooster. I don't feel so bad now. As a matter of fact, I feel pretty good. As another matter of fact, Cheri is out of town and Dalton and I are heading down to Dauphin Island for the weekend to do some speckled trout fishing. No internet so I'll catch up Sunday. Kudos to all the great Moms out there!

I looked at all the adorable grandchildren and must be nice. My daughter and son aren't even married yet. My son is 31 and my daughter is 27. I can't wait for those wonderful days of grandchildren.

Meriweather -

Carol and Johnny Mansour live right next door.

Saw Carol at Paul Michaels two weeks ago and she said she would probably come. She just logged in right after that.

Thanks, Janice, tell Carol I'll be looking for her! Give her my cell if you talk to her....(256) 338-1280. :)

I am envious of all the beautiful grandchildren. My "kids" did not take after me in the marriage department which is probably a good thing! I have two wonderful sons, 31 and 30, and a beautiful daughter age 25 who is probably going to walk down the aisle in less than 2 years but nothing official as yet. I will really be an OLD grandma when it happens! But that's ok with me for now. I am really too busy with my trail riding right now anyway!

Jobana, I meant to write earlier about your comment as to how you were teased about your name. I really had it bad as well. Marypecker, Maryfeather, etc., etc. I really did not care all that much in those days thank goodness, and today I just laugh when people mess up my name. The best thing about Meriwether is that I never need to say my last name which is a good thing! My mother always told me that you should never worry when people talk about you because if they don't, you are probably dead. True in most cases other than Elvis. :)

Meriweather and Scooter,
Ramona Rhodes is the Postmaster at the Post Office in Merigold, MS. I saw her about a year ago after not seeing her for many years. She is doing well, married, etc., however, I don't remember her married name. I'm sure someone in the Delta could contact her at the post office about the reunion.

Does anyon know the where abouts of Kenny Mcneil?

Thanks Patty....I saw Monie (as we called her in Jr. High)many years ago in the Greeenville Mall. Kathy Carr do you remember our Saturday trail rides through Golden Acres? Monie, Karen Williamson, Bubba Buehler and a few others sometimes. What was the name of that crazy "painted pony" that I used ride? Monie's horse was King...she sure loved that horse. I wish she would make it to the reunion. And Karen Williamson too.

Kenny McNeil. I would really like to see him. He never made anything under a 101 on a test. He would leave class after a test, stand next to his locker crying like a baby because he "Failed" the friging thing. I would just shake my head and smile at him and say, "Forget it Kenny, you'll never be like me". I think he knew what I meant.

hello to everybody.there are 50 pages of this thing so far and i have only read three. this thing sounds like some bird flying over ghs at lunch time from group to group listening in on conversations. so far...coach childs was the young studyhall teacher.i ran into him one night at MSU frat party when i was a student there. he was a good guy away from school. i hope everyone is doing well and enjoys this time when we get to look back through the timemachine and reflect on who and where we were then. be thankful that we have each other.... old friends. i hope to see you all soon.

Hey Scooter, If it's the horse I think it was, his name was Peanut. He was 1/2 Shetland and 1/2 Tennesse Walker. If it was the same horse, you got lucky. In later years he would buck any male who got on him off into rose bushes. I sure miss those days. I haven't been on a horse in about 20 years. The last time I rode was in the Keyhole in a show. My son was 5 at the time and wanted to win 1st. My cousin wouldn't go fast enough,(it was her horse) so I did.

Don't know where Karen Williamson Mott is these days. I use to see her at Sanders Pharmacy. I think she is in Oxford now.

I've seen Carol S. Mansour at Paul Michael's. Johnny went to the 68 reunion. They didn't put his name on his pictures, just ????? Their website is GHS68.com. They have some good pictures of their reunion. Didn't see any pictures of Carol though.

Does anyone know where Ann Hoggett Mixon is? She used to live on Fairview in her mother's house. I had lunch with her about 5 years ago, but lost touch.
I talked to Betty Burke and Ricki Browne about a month ago. They are planning to come. Betty will be in Europe right before the reunion, but is trying to work out her schedule to get here. Ricki is planning to go to Betty's, then here.

Kathy, I wonder why I wasn't riding with all of you back then? I must have been into something else, but Ramona and I were buddies for a while and I can still see her in her boots and cowboy hat. She was so cool and fascinated me at the time. I bought my own horse 5 years ago, and almost every weekend I am on the trail somewhere. Have a 2 horse trailer and also a living quarters trailer that I keep on my land close to Big South Fork in TN. Now that is 4 hours from where I live in AL, but it was only 2 hours when I was in Knoxvville. Anyone ever been there? An outdoor enthusiast's dream!

Kathy, I talked to Ann Hoggett about 2 or 3 weeks ago for an hour. She is taking care of her mother and her brother which is full time job. They live with her and Jim in the same house on Fairview. I have her cell phone # and if you want it, let me know. Nancy Jones is going to call her also. I sure hope she can come. She was always so much fun. Kenny, hope Vince emails me. I have always liked him. Saw him at MSU after a golf tourn. and he played and sang for two hours. Loved it!

Kenny lol I hope you got by with that. Don't worry if I get the bill I'll pay it. Wouldn't be the first time I got riped off by a country music artist. You know what I mean there lol have a good trip brother.
Chad I tell Kenny is going to try and cook those birds man.

Joe,
I love the football picture of the 8 seniors. I have gone back and looked at it several times and the flash back is like yesterday...it seems like I was standing next to the photographer.
Debra, Jane, Mary, Gloria and I had a great get together and are really fired up about the reunion.
I stopped by George's store Friday and had a good visit. I read old letters from me..........too funny. See ya soon.

Gloria Mansour (Traylor)

Nancy Jones, Mary McGraw, Jane Sherman, Debra Abide, Ruth Ann Brent and I had a wonderful supper at Sherman's Thursday night. It was good to chat and bring back old memories as well as make new ones. I asked everyone if I looked as old as they do and believe it or not, they said "YES!" :( Oh well, time catches up with us all lol! Thinking of having a brunch Sat. at my house for the St. Joe girls. Let me know if you are interested. Gloria

The Brunch sounds wonderful. Let me know what I can do.

We had a great time at Sherman's. My side still hurts from laughing so much. Nancy read old letters and Gloria was a great story teller.

Can't wait to see everyone

Terry Talbot - Glad you have joined us. I am still nursing. I did the ER till 2 years ago and now school nursing. The children need so much. I see your sweet mother sometimes.
