Kenny Sims' Story for You. Our Junior Year Kenny Kicked Off and Kicked Extra Points for the GHS Football Team. Can't remember the game but we had scored a touchdown and Kenny was coming onto the field and stopped before he got in the huddle. He leaned over and told me not to worry about the guy that was getting ready to knock my head off after I snapped the football back to Leslie to hold for him to kick the extra point. Kenny told me just get the football back to Leslie so he could look good kicking the extra point. I can't remember my comment back to Kenny, probably good because I don't think it was shareable. Snap was good, Lelsie did a Great Job and Kenny sent the Football straight through the center of the goal post. He came over as I was getting up winked at me and helped me off the ground.

I shared this because that is the kind of guy Kenny was up until the end. Always had a Smile, Sense of Humor and Would Always Lend a Hand to Help Someone. Glad We had a chance to have a phone visit on one of your trips to Greenville. Hope You put in a Good Word for me and will have that same hand that helped me off the ground back in the Fall of 1969 when I hopefully join you again. Godspeed and Peace Ole Friend.

We met in the 7th grade at E.E. Bass and went through Jr. High and High School together.  You always had a smile on your face that drew people to you.  You will be missed by many.  Rest In Peace my friend.
