John Provenza (1971)

My first experience to 'Northern Exposure', the Harry Lee Family - Harry, Mag, Philip, Pat and Peter what a great group of folks. Pat was a member of the Ole John Street Gang; Frank Smith, David Burks, Zach Smith, Pat Lee, Mike Tubertini and I. First real memories of Pat were at Solomon when we rode our bikes to school; Jack Barnes, RE Dawkins, David Burks, Elam Rusk, Pat Lee and I - what a group on bikes. Football, Weekends, Two Tree, Pretty Place and other memories of Pat come back. I can see him walking down the hall at GHS as I type this; skinny, hair and blue jeans. I got to see Pat in Greenville after our 2000 Reunion during the Fall at the airport for a short visit, he had been in town to see Mag. Peter owns a business here in Baton Rouge and we have lunch together on occasion, one time he came in with Pat, a great surprise. We had a super visit and he told me that he would call next time he was in town, he passed away about 6 months later. Too many memories of many friends to include but I can see the ole group sitting on the curb of John Street and Highway 1 South on a Summer evening visiting; I carry that vision and often on Summer evenings see this group: Jack Barnes, Bubba Robinson, David Burks, Pat Lee, Jim Wright, Frank Smith, Mike Tubertini and I. Ole Pat is resting in the North Woods a place that he loved. Bubba, Jack, Jim and David are probably keeping him busy......
