John Provenza (1971)

Ole Brother Jim Wright, don't know where to start or where to end. Weekends during 1967-1971 at the Wright Home. Great memories, Good Ole Friends too many to name. Let's see Honda 90 Motorcycle, then the CB160...Buz, Tom Slick (Tommy Pittman), Jeff Harrison, Brother Bob Swanner (The Ole Packard-Back Seat the size of the small home),RE, Clainy, Jack Barnes, Tubi and I to name just a few that passed through the Wright Household. Bruce Endicott,Eddy Wright,Eleanor Wright & Ms. Lib; and Ole Nat and the things that Nat saw. Two favorite memories, first one dropping Jim off to get his 1969 SS396 Camaro at Meadows and meeting him at Strazis that night after I dropped off Ruth Ann - what a ride through the country side with Jim and folks pursuing us. I had a nice little hand written note on my Firebird from a Local police officer Sweden on my arrival back at Strazis. Second one loaning Jim my Firebird to go to lunch in and sitting in Coach Saipen's Algebra II Class and hearing and watching Jim take off at lunch - and the comment from the Coach - 'Provenza that person needs to attend Driver's Ed'. I was honored to have been a Pallbearer at Jim's Funeral with a Great Bunch of folks, wish I had a picture of that group. I know Jim has already joined up with some family and friends and he will be waiting, I'm looking forward to another ride through the country side in that Ole '69 SS Camaro.

Jim Veal (1970)

First time I ever saw the guy, Solomon Jr. High, he was very unique looking, with his eye issue and the big shock of hair hanging down in his face and an odd gait to his walk, but there was a magnetism there, and a huge smile. I was never close to him, but you knew this guy was cool on the outside and good on the inside. I never heard a single negative word spoken about him by anyone, ever. He was my good friend Edmund Taylor's cousin, and the Wrights hit Greenville like a storm. I managed to get to a few of the parties. It was another world and another time, but he is one of life's special characters that you just wish was still here with us. Jim's Mom, Lib, was the child of Mr. Edmund and Elizabeth Taylor, easily two of the finest human beings to ever grace this planet. I know some of you know this, but Mr. Edmund was in many ways. responsible for Greenville becoming what it was when it was at its very best. That was Jim's lineage.
