This is very sad, as it is when we receive notification of any of our class member's passing away. St. Paul said that "no man lives unto himself, nor does he die unto himself." We all must take time to, sadly, acknowledge a friend's moving from this realm. However, we can give thanks, at the same time, that Leslie has passed on to a higher dimension filled with joys and experiences that have not even entered our minds. Yes, we give thanks for that because Leslie was an open proclaimer that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior of all. His close family, of course, will miss him on a level that we can't approach; but we all can rejoice that he will be there to greet us when we also step from this pale existence into that vivid, full-color pallet, brilliantly lit, higher domain of eternal life.

Leslie was a good friend in "our day." I am sad that I lost contact with him as we grew older. But it's good to know that I/we will see him again.

I'd like to stop here and address all of my former class mates who might read this note. Although I did not know many of you intimately, we were brought together as classmates of a common year by the wisdom of Almighty God.  Thus, putting all other concerns aside, we are a special group, a peculiar group (as all graduating classes are), peculiar meaning not "odd" but a specifc and different group of another kind.

Having said this, I have a dedicated feeling for each of you that I have for no other group of people in the world. I pray for you and your well-being; and I hope that God will grant us all a time set aside for a 1962 graduating class reunion whenever the last of us has made the trek, escorted by angels, to our final, eternal world. This reunion will be most joyful because we will know that life before us will be forever and filled with only one happy event follwed by another, not even the hint of a short moment of grief, such as the passing of a loved one, even if to a beter life.

God bless each of you and your families. I am praying that the remained of the year 2014 will be the best time of your lives.
