NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr.William "Bill" Lee Goodwin, Jr., age 68, at 12:00 Noon Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr.Nicholas Dupre' officiating and Fr. Ted Broussard and Fr. Charles Langlois con celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery with military services by New Iberia Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until time of service on Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:30 on Friday.

A native of Greenville, MS and resident of New Iberia, Bill passed away at 3:10 pm on, Monday, March 28, 2016 at Camelot of Broussard, after a lengthy and brave battle with Parkinson's disease.

Mr. Goodwin was a Veteran of the US Army who served his country honorably. He was employed by Air Logistics for more than 32 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed aviation, photography and spending time outdoors in the yard, gardening and tinkering in his workshop. One of his greatest loves was traveling with his dearest friend, John Fallis, to Osh Kosh, Wisconsin; Sun-n-Fun Fly-in in Florida and trips to Australia for parts for the WWII P-40 they restored.
Bill will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Mims Goodwin of New Iberia; one daughter, Beth Goodwin Lege and husband Benjamin of Abbeville; two sons, William Patrick Goodwin and wife Sidonie Gaude of Chicago, IL and Ashley James Goodwin of Durango, CO; three grandchildren, David Lege; Jacob Lege and Mary Helen Lege and one brother, Cliff Goodwin of Philadelphia, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee and Lula Mae Wilkinson Goodwin, Sr.

Pallbearers will be William Patrick Goodwin, Ashley James Goodwin, Mark Bailey, Barry Mims, Keith Latiolais and Walter Gondron.
