Jonathan Dean Martin, 26, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, as a result of a car accident.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher L. Martin Jr., and the grandson of Mrs. Carrie J. Martin. He was a 1999 graduate of Southside High School.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and grandmother, are his wife, Mrs. Erica Humphrie Martin; a stepdaughter, Shantel Steward; a sister, Ms. Aletia M. Tyson of Charlotte, N.C.; brothers, Mr. Eric B. (Atonya) Martin of Lithia, Fla., Mr. Stanley F. Martin of Atlanta, Ga., and Dr. Dennis Martin of Greenville. Other survivors include, nieces, nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
