Charles Mort Cathey, 69, of Plano, Texas, dies of natural causes April 12, 2011, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Richardson, TX. He was born March 29, 1942, in Greenville, TX, the son of Hollis Cathey and Melba (Dennis) Cathey. He was a graduate of Greenville High School. He was known for his love for his family, his kindness and his passion for his work. He was a faithful employee of 14 years of Precision Dialing Services. Charles was also an employee of Star Community Newspapers for over 15 years. He enjoyed his Sundays off, watching his favorite sports teams and visiting with family. He was characterized as having his camera ready-to-go to capture treasured moments, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by: wife of 17 years, Anne Cathey; two daughters, Margaret Espinosa and husband Juan, Susan Gibson and husband John; step-son, Charles Salkeld; three grandchildren, Michael Espinosa, Daniel Gibson and Kaylin Gibson; Brother-in-law, Max Mull; a nephew, Bob Mull; and a niece, Cathey Ann (Mull) Yandell, and their family. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret (Cathey) Mull. A memorial service was held April 19, at St. Mark the Evangelist Church with Fr. Clifford Smith presiding. A private interment will be held at a later date.
