Julia was my best friend in the world. After high school we were roommates in college at TWU. We went on many girl's trips - to Corpus Christi, Cancun, skiing in Lake Tahoe, Carribean cruise, and lots of day trips when I would visit her in Atlanta, Georgia. We always had a blast! Julia named her youngest daughter Shannon Michaelle after me. All 3 of her kids, Lori, Jay and Shannon still call me Aunt Michaelle. Julia was a loyal daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She was a wonderful listener and confidant. She was thoughtful, compassionate and wise, had a heart of gold and a strong faith in God, and was always doing kind things for everyone. When she was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2003, we were shocked. I spoke to her almost every day, flew out to visit her shortly after she was diagnosed and stayed with her and her family as she lay dying in the ICU. Seven weeks after she was diagnosed she passed away - on November 19, 2003. I still miss her every day.

Julia was one of my best friends in elementary school. I think it was fifth grade. She was always so nice to me, and was a joy to be around. I remember going to her house for a slumber party once ! I loved her large loving family. I regret not knowing her more after grade school. She was indeed a beautiful person to know.

I didn't know Julia very well in school, but what I rember is her absolute kindness I never heard her say anything ugly about anyone. I know she's in heaven looking over all of us and we should all be grateful we had a chance to know her just a little
