Debra Waters (Smith)

Debra "Duma" Jean Waters Smith was born in Dallas, Texas on May 3, 1961. She was the daughter of the late L.P. Waters and Erma Jean Waters Caldwell.
Debra graduated from Greenville High School in May 1979. After graduation Debra had the opportunity to travel to Germany where she met her husband of 38 years, William Smith. In their union, two beautiful daughters were born, Sheena and Leslie. Debra continued her education and received her bachelor's in business from East Texas State University (Texas A&M-Commerce).
 
She was a member of the Goodwill Baptist Church, serving in any capacity. She worked in the Greenville Independent School District for several years prior to her professional career with AT&T for 21 years. Debra loved to shop, travel, dine out and was very faithful to family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, William Smith; daughters, Sheena Smith and Leslie Okunubi (Ade); her granddaughter, Sloane Okunubi; her mother Erma Waters Caldwell (Phillip); siblings, Patricia Jones (SJ), Aretha "Gail" Alford (Kenneth), Anthony Davis (Kristina), Cathy Davis; her special aunt, Lucretia Finks; her special cousin, Bryant Alexander and a host of other relatives and friends.

Debra's homegoing service will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3809 Lee St in Greenville, 1 p.m. Burial in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation Friday Sept. 13, 2019 at the Love & Integrity Funeral Services, 4900 King St, Greenville, Texas.

Debra was always so fun to be around, as she had a wonderful personality.  She will be missed by all who knew her and were touched by her kindness. RIP
