GREENWOOD — Rodney S. Petty, 47, of Greenwood died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, in a local hospice. He was retired from the maintenance department at Sparks Regional Medical Center, a member of Jenny Lind First Baptist Church of Greenwood and an assistant Boy Scout leader for Lodge No. 131.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jenny Lind First Baptist Church in Greenwood with burial of cremains at a later date. The body will be cremated under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jana; three daughters, Jessica Cowan, Erin Padilla and Stephanie Whisenhunt, all of Greenwood; three sons, Christopher Petty of Hartford, Kyle Petty of Fort Smith and Joshua Petty of Greenwood; his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Manard Sparks of Greenwood; three sisters, Robin Adams of Spiro, Roxie Petty of Lakewood, Colo., and Rhonda Rylatt of Hammond, La.; two brothers, Randy Petty of Odessa, Mo., and Rusty Petty of Spiro; and eight grandchildren.
