What I remember most about Russell was from 4th grade (Mrs. Lewis) he sat behind me and when he found out I had drawn his name for Christmas, he told me he wanted a 45 record of Island Girl by Elton John. He would remind me periodically by humming and singing that song. I bought him that record that Christmas and now every time I hear that song, I think of him.

Russell is survived by his mother Melba, father R.O., brother Bobby, and many friends who loved him dearly. He lived on Hwy 71 right across the street from the gas station in Jenny Lind.

I remember how much fun is was to have Russell in Home Ec., I believe he was the only guy in that class and he made the most of it. One of the only guys with the courage to perm the front of his hair. It matched his great personality.

We would laugh all the way home from school, when he was grounded from his car(and was suppose to take the bus) and I would take him home in mine. We lived about 3 miles from each other.

I know his mother well, she misses her baby.
