Even though Gina died two years before graduation, we still feel she is a part of our class. Gina was born on Feb. 17, 1966 and died on Jan. 9, 1982. I talked with Gina's mother,Shirley, about 4 years ago while I was visiting relatives in Greenwood. She shared many details of the car accident that took her daughter's life. We were only 16 at the time of Gina's death and much of my memory of this tragic event had faded. However, I was surprised how strong my grief surfaced as we talked. I am sure our loss did not compare with her parent's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with them. Jennifer

It's been so many years since that fateful night of the car accident. I don't remember most of that night, but it still haunts me to this day. So many "what if's" go through my mind.....but nothing will change what happened.Whenever I think about Gina, I think about what a good friend she was. She was truly a sweet girl, and she is definitely missed.

I remember how very cold it was the day we laid her to rest. So many people came, we stood outside listening to the service on a speaker. I am still grateful to this day to Debbie Jones and her mom for letting me ride with them.I still visit her grave every few years. I was forever changed that day. Deborah
