Sandy died of cancer in December 2002. He lived near Philadelphia where he raised 2 sons, and a daughter. He was an attorney with the Anti-Trust Division of U.S. Department of Justice.
I loved talking politics with Sandy. I remember that we were like-minded proud liberals who campaigned for George McGovern in heavily Republican Grosse Pointe. We had a lot of laughs comparing notes. He was a great guy all around!
I can't help but think of my dear friend Sandy around this time of year. We would have been celebrating our 60th birthdays this summer. We made a date when we graduated from Grosse Point North to meet back in the school courtyard the year of our 50th birthdays. Of course I never imagined that one of us would be gone from this life even then. Now it's a few more years down the road and I don't miss him any less but ever so grateful we had a few spins around the sun (and dancefloor) together. Gone but never forgotten...what a special person he was!

Does anyone know what happened to Sandy? I was so shocked and saddened to hear that he had died.
My heartfelt condolences to his family. If anyone knows, please post what happened.
