Eddie lived about a block away from me in Bayou View. Our parents were friends too, so we saw each other often even outside of school. I remember riding with Eddie home from town one day in his green Corvair. He took 2nd Street instead of Highway 90 because there was no traffic on it, therefore he steped on it.
