We have just learned our classmate, **Joe McKinney**, has passed away unexpectedly from heart problems, only a week after sharing laughs and memories with us at our 50th high school reunion. We do not have information about the arrangements yet, but we will update this post as soon as we learn more.
Joe was a good friend who was known for his warmth and good humor wherever he went. He had a deep love of the outdoors and found immense pleasure in fishing. We heard he requested his ashes be spread over Guntersville Lake. I also found he had another love of playing music. The following was in his profile comments;
"Played music 13 yrs with Ernest Tub,
Eddie Floyd, Tom T Hall, T G Sheperd, Maro Smith, Jerry Reed, Avalanche Band, Tampa, FL. #99 on top100 billboard chart. Mr Boogie Man."
We are grateful we had the chance to see Joe and reconnect with him at the reunion. Our hearts go out to his wife, Patricia, daughter, Jodi, and his family during this difficult time. His memory will remain part of our shared story, and he will be missed.
Rest in peace, Joe.https://www.cyfairfunerals.com/obituaries/Joe-Riley-Mckinney?obId=42913575

I was sitting with Joe and his wife Trisha Saturday at the reunion when Mr. Walton came to our table to give out the cards he had for everyone. Joe and Mr. Walton talked about Joe's music career and Joe thanked Mr. Walton for giving him his first set of drums. Oh how I wish I had taken a picture of them reminiscing.
RIP Joe! Hope you have found the big bass lake in Heaven.
