Information about Keith Adair
Posted Sunday, January 31, 2010 11:06 AM

As I mentioned in my email, I've heard that Keith Adair's cancer has come out of remission and his doctors are only giving him a few days.  I also heard that he was having emergency surgery this morning, but I have no other details than that.  He and his family need our prayers.

Please post/discuss any new information that you have here to share with the class.

Vickie Adair posted the following on her facebook page last night (Sunday night, Jan 31):

please continue prayers for Keith Adair and his family. Thye took him to UAB to have an Aortic Bypass but they were unable to do the surgery. Keith is now on a ventilator. He is a very good person and he is so young to be going through this. Love you Keith!

Vickie Adair posted on facebook just after 7pm tonight that Keith is not doing well.  His blood pressure is dropping.

Keep the prayers coming!

Thanks, Jeannie Behel Lyon for the updates on Keith.

New information from Tina and Vickie Adair via other classmates...

Keith was unable to have his surgery yesterday morning because he was too weak.  Also, pneumonia has started to set in.

An update came in just a few minutes ago that his blood pressure is very low.  I'm not in the medical field, but it seems extremely low to me.

Tina's sister said on facebook last night that he was "still fighting".  She said, "Keep praying.  Don't give up faith and hope.  Keith sure is not."

Thanks, Ashley (Goodwin) Pearson, for getting this information for us!

Early this morning, Keith passed away.  His family made the difficult decision to take him off of life support.  Please pray for them during this difficult time.

Keith was such a great guy, and his passing is a great loss.  Please take comfort in the fact that he is not suffering any longer.

More details, including funeral arrangements to be posted here as soon as they're known.

Services will be held at Concord Baptist Church in Montevallo / Calera.  Visitation will be at 6 pm on  Saturday and the service will be at 12 noon on Sunday.

Keith will be interned in Littleville Cemetery Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:30 pm. A memorial service will conclude with a grave side service for those who cannot make it to the funeral.

Tina (Boshell) Wilson will be sending flowers on behalf of our class.

If you would like to send cards of sympathy to Keith's family, please send them to:

Adair Family
30 Co. Rd. 110
Haleyville, AL 35565

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event will be Saturday, April 24, 2010.  I encourage you all to buy a luminaria in memory of Keith.  What a wonderful way to honor our friend and help others at the same time.  Cancer touches so many.

I will find out who you can buy a luminaria from locally in Haleyville and post it here.  However, you can also click here to purchase one online in memory of Keith.  All purchases on this link that I've included will credited to the Winston County Relay for Life event and Keith's luminaries will be displayed at that event. Once you get on the Relay website, click on "Dedicate a luminaria" then click on "credit to the event".

Please feel free to leave a comment in memory of Keith on his memorial page on our class site.  His obituary from the paper will also be available there when it comes out.
