Obituary: Fran Aderholt

Fran Aderholt, 23, Haleyville, died Tuesday, April 25, 1995 at Burdick West Hospital, Haleyville.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 27, at Nichols Funeral Home, Haleyville, with Ed Jordan and Vernie Brimer officiating.  Burial was in Winston Memorial Cemetery, Haleyville.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Aderholt; parents, Larry and Annette Aderholt, Haleyville; a sister, Suzie Hunter, Summersville; grandparents, Joe and Bo Aderholt, Haleyville, Sanders Williams, Dothan, Dewayne Williams, Mobile.

Young community leader dies suddenly

The Haleyville area was left in shock Tuesday at the sudden loss of one of its young leaders.  Twenty-three-year-old Fran Aderholt died suddenly at his home of a brain aneurysm.

The 1989 graduate of Haleyville High School displayed a loved of family and community.  He served as Lions Club president for the 1993-94 club year.

Lions Club member Buford Thompson remembered Aderholt, "He was an energetic club member and fine club president.  I think he had outstanding leadership abilities for his young age."

Fran also had antoher love - horses.  He learned to ride at an early age.  In high school, he captured a 4-H state barrel racing championship; 4-H state pole bending race and went on to win five state barrel racing championships, as well as many other barrel racing jackpots and horse shows all over the southeast.

It was at a barrel racing event he met his wife, Angela Allred, of Jasper. Angela is also an accomplished barrel racer.

Aderholt was co-owner of Aderholt Tack and Feed Store in Haleyville, along with his parents Larry Joe and Annette Aderholt.

He was a member of the NBHA and Splunge Creeck Hunting Club.
