In Memory

Kenneth Keebler (273)

My friend Kenneth (Ken) Keebler passed early this morning 3/5/21 after a long fight with kidney disease. Ken was the Vice President and Long-Range Maintenance committee chair for our club. Ken's dedication to the club and club projects helped make it what it is today. My heart and love go out to his wife Debra, Daughters; Sharon & Crystal, and his five Granddaughters; Harper, Violet, Ada June, Ruby Jo & Sunny Rose during this time of grieving.

Ken and Jud at the Plate match last year.

Ken taught me a lot about construction during the Baffle project. We also fished together and enjoyed spending time together.

Ken's gruff exterior only covered the heart of gold that cared deeply for his family and friends. He was definitely wrapped around the fingers of his granddaughters. When he talked about them the smile (which was rare at other times) was beaming and there was a distinct twinkle in his eyes.

I will never forget when he asked me to take over as match director of the Falling Plate matches. I thought to myself I am a novice how can I be the match director? He helped me with the rules and to get started.

Oh, how I enjoyed watching him shoot on his good days when he was hitting six out of six in less than 4 seconds. It was hard to watch at times after the kidney disease started affecting his once calm steady hands.

I know he is with his heavenly father but I will always miss him.

Fair winds and following seas my friend.

Ray

In my short time at HCRPC, no one has done more to improve our shooting range than Ken. His dedication and contributions to HCRPC are unmatched and he will be greatly missed. Fair winds Ken.

Words can't express my admiration and appreciation for Ken. Many days I would encounter him during my duty as RO and he would be quietly working on a project for the club. A recent example I observed was when he headed the project to improve the drainage at the NE corner of the range. The concrete contractor had overcalculated the amount of concrete needed to finish the job and just dumped several yards of overage on the parking lot. Ken, in his   questionable physical condition, got the atv and a 5 gallon bucket and began hauling the uncured concrete to the original destination to complete the job. As many of us know Ken was a "dooer not a watcher". I will miss him and know that he is welcome in Heaven! God bless his family. Wayne Quenichet

It has been one year since Ken passed and I still miss him. I think of him often and wish he could see the progress we have made on the projects he started.
