Timothy (Tim) Goodart, 59, of Oxford, CT departed this life on September 27, 2023

He is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Lynette M. (Carrachino) Goodart and their son, Justin T. Goodart. He also leaves his parents, Beverly and Tyrone Goodart of Shrewsbury, MA, two sisters Sheryl Goodart of Boylston, MA and Barbara (Goodart) Lee and her fiancé Scott Novick of Shrewsbury, MA, his niece Rebecca (Lee) Riquelme and her husband Jonathan, his nephew Michael Lee of Worcester, MA and two great nephews Zachary and Lucas Riquelme.

He was predeceased by his son Joshua Goodart of Oxford, CT, his brother Tyrone Gregory Goodart, II originally of Hamilton, MA, his sister-in-law Lorna Beksha of Medway, MA, and his brother-in-law Mark Carrachino of Milford, MA.

Besides his immediate family, Tim is also survived by his mother in-law, Lina (Marinelli) Carrachino and the late Attilio Carrachino of Milford, MA, sister in laws Lynne Desjourdy and her husband Paul of Millis, MA, and Karen Carrachino of Grafton, MA, brother-in-law William Beksha of Medway, MA and many nieces and nephews. Tim will also be missed by his dog Blackjack.

Tim was born in Elizabeth, NJ, September 7, 1964, to Tyrone and Beverly (Nye) Goodart. Tim moved to South Hamilton, MA with his family where he grew up. At a very young age, Tim was known to be adventurous, and he and his baby sister "Barbie" would be seen together on their excursions. As years went by, Tim and Barbie became referred to as the Irish twins, always together like two peas in a pod.He loved spending summers in Maine at his family's lake house where water sports
became his passion.

After meeting the love of his life, Lynette, they settled into their home in Oxford, CT, where they raised their children, Joshua and Justin, as well as building their extended family with their loving and caring neighbors. Here is where his passion and dedication grew to include coaching his sons in baseball, cheering them on in wrestling, ultimate frisbee, football and soccer. Like Tim, his kids enjoyed being outdoors. Many summers were enjoyed tubing, knee boarding, skiing, and fishing at the family lake house. The neighborhood family shared adventures of camping, New Years Eve gatherings, and ice-skating on Tim's homemade ice rink in the yard. Tim received his BS in Mechanical Engineering, from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He was currently employed at Mott Corporation in Farmington, CT
where he was employed for 19 years. He always referred to Mott as his work family.

Throughout his years there Tim was passionate about helping others, dedicated to finding unique solutions for his customers, and was fully committed to the success of the company. Recently Mott awarded Tim the Bud H. Mott Excellence Award in recognition of his exemplary core values and long-standing contributions to the company. Many of his colleagues described him with words like dedicated, faithful, integrity, courageous, supremely confident, and lively.

Tim's dream was to retire and own a boat and lake house. So, as the months passed and his illness continued, he and Lynette decided to make sure his dream would come true. Although Tim was taken away far too quickly, he did have time at a nearby lake house with his boat and was able to ride and fish on the lake, just as he dreamed. To see his joy in the few minutes of freedom from his cancer and illness was everything. We now picture him riding a boat with the sun in his "baby" blue eyes, wind in his hair and his first mate, Joshua, by his side. Knowing the two are now together in Heaven brings a small sense of peace to us all.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 2nd at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 E Main St, Milford, MA 01757. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
