Timothy Philip McClain Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Philip McClain, born on August 1, 1957, in Trenton, NJ, decided to take his final ride on October 10, 2025, at the age of 68, from the comfort of his home in Sneads Ferry. Tim- a man who lived life on his own terms, embodying the spirit of a true adventurer and a devoted family man.

He was previously a resident of Bucks County, PA, where he owned and operated Tranter Mayflower Moving and Storage in Newtown. Through his work, Tim demonstrated the value of hard work and dedication, lessons he imparted to his sons while they worked alongside him at the moving company.

A man of varied interests, Tim loved nothing more than the roar of a motorcycle engine and was a true aficionado of cigars. His passion for classic rock, especially bands like Van Halen, was well-known among his friends and family. A devoted fan of Philadelphia sports teams, Tim's enthusiasm was infectious, and he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams with fervor.

Tim was also a gym enthusiast who enjoyed lifting weights, and he had a special place in his heart for dogs and parrots, who were his loyal companions throughout his life.

Tim was a bright light to many, the life of the party who could charm the pants off anyone—though he usually preferred jeans. He was generous to a fault and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. As a supportive father, he taught his children the value of hard work and blue-collar grit, showing them the ropes of life with wisdom and wit.

Surviving Tim are his sons, Bo McClain and his wife, Melissa of Schwenksville, PA and David McClain and his wife, Lindsay of Stroudsburg, PA; his grandchildren, Maci, Duncan, Reagan, Rowan, Lagertha, Freya, and Astrid; his brothers, Bernie McClain and his wife, Patricia and Patrick McClain and his wife, Kim; and a special friend, Karen Slayne. The mother of his children, Canise McClain, and many nieces and nephews also carry forward his legacy.

Tim lived life with a Roman Catholic faith, but he always believed that heaven was a place where the bikes were fast, the cigars were smooth, and the music never stopped.

In keeping with Tim's wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, those who knew him are encouraged to celebrate his life by cranking up some classic rock, lighting a fine cigar, and sharing a story or two about the man who could always be counted on to bring a smile to your face.

Ride on, Tim. You will be missed but never forgotten.

To express condolences, to share a memory or photo, please do so on the tribute wall.

Coastal Cremations of Jacksonville is serving the family.
