Comments:

I spent the summer and fall of 1969 running around and goofing off mostly and waiting for my departure to boot camp in the Air Force. After boot camp, I was sent to Wyoming to work as a civil engineer electrician. On the way there, I stopped and married Martha Jo Erkenbrecker, my girlfirend that I had met at the skating rink in Fairfield. She followed me to Wyoming where we stayed for 2 years, then she went home to her mother to have our baby while I went to a radar site in Alaska - god, it was a miserable year. After that, we went to Goldsboro North Carolina for my last year of military duty and then made home in North College Hill, Cincinnati.
In '74, I was transferred to Indianapolis, got divorced in '75, remarried in '76 to Jane (Wenz) Taylor of Indy. In 1977, we moved to Tampa Fl, to be close to my son from my first marriage and we moved around Fla until we moved back to Indy in 1982.
I've been here ever since, although I got divorced again. In 1994, I met a very sweet gal by the name of Candy Lee (Hefling) Radcliffe, who was single at the time.
3 WEEKS LATER, WE ELOPED TO GATLINBURG, TN.
We've been married for 20 years now, we opened our own auto repair shop and we've had a good life, even with all the ups and downs. We had to deal with a lot of wounds and scars from my child hood, but she has stuck it out and we are very much in love.

School Story:

When I was 10 years old, we were living in Northern Ohio, my parents divorced and I didn't see my father until I was 18.
In 1964, my mother remarried and we moved to Hamilton, where my mother became a 3rd grade teacher, my stepfather an English teacher at Garfield and I went to Wilson Jr High.
From the moment I arrived, until I left for the Air Force, my memories of Hamilton and Taft HS are not very good. As an outsider, with big ears and dumb look on his face I was ridiculed and made fun of constantly.
I had 2 close friends - Nelson Breedlove and Ray Hartsock. We hung out, goofed off and had a good time for the duration of HS.
Some of you may remember, Nelson's 1st car was stolen from the HS parking lot and wrecked. Well, it was me. Everyone was suspicious that it was me, but I never admitted it to anyone, not even Nelson. It's too bad, as Nelson and I drifted apart and I haven't seen him since then.

Sorry guys, but I won't becoming to the reunion this year - I didn't make it any time in the last 44 years, but maybe I'll live for the 50th. A lot of people are gone now, especially in recent years, but the one I'll miss most is Jim Fath. Never went back, never saw him again, but sure wish I had. I'm really tied down with a spouse that needs a lot of care and there is no family, except her sister (who is too busy most of the time) to help share in the care. Also, sorry to John Trent & Dan Bowman...I'd like to have seen them too. Happy Holidays

I cruised many times with Nelson - we had a blast. Things didn't go well though after I stole and wrecked his first car up on Eaton Hill in 1969. Nelson, I hope you've forgiven me for that.
