It is with great sadness to inform you that Paula Powell lost her mother on Sunday September 27th. I am posting the information in case anyone is interested in paying their respects.
Victoria E. Powell (Kohler) passed on Sunday September 27, 2009 at her home in Detroit MI. Born May 8, 1945 in Philadelphia PA, Victoria grew up in the suburb of Lansdale PA, living in Florida and California before settling in the Metro Detroit area where she lived for the last 30 years.
Vicky served proudly in the U.S. Navy as an AZAN from 04 June 1964 to 26 August 1965, leaving only due to the birth of her first child.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings and her only son William Raymond Powell. She is survived by her sister Phyllis, daughters Mary Devore & Paula Bettasso, and her beloved grandsons Timothy (Mary) and Allen (Paula).
A memorial luncheon is scheduled for Sunday Oct 11, 1pm – 4pm at Rosie O’Grady’s on 23 mile Rd.
Victoria will be interred with full military honors, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly MI in a private family ceremony.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to "Operation USO Care Package" at http://www.usometrodc.org/donationpage.htm
