Hi again everybody,
Brian, Patty M. and Mindy life is going wonderfully great in Vienna. I moved over to Europe in 1999 on a whim, at first it was only a planned short vacation, for Christmas, then I fell in love (with Austria, and Nina) and decided to stay.
It's difficult to describe the lifestyle here in Europe. Before I came here I never imagined I would have moved out of Michigan, I didn't know that there could be any place better than America, ha! If anyone here on this message baord ever gets the chance to visit any European country I say "go for it!" Life here is beyond belief, beyond my wildest dreams.
As for my life here, and what I do.... I'm just a normal guy, living a normal Viennese life. (smiling) My job, it's with a very small, but very old company, in logistics. I keep track of precious metals for a small firm, we have customers throughout central and eastern Europe.
I can't help but think back to the days when I lived in Hamtramck, hell, I lived my first 29 years in the same house on winfield street (by the city hall). I've heard that Hamtramck has changed enormously in the last several years, that I wouldn't recognize it if I were to ever return for a visit, is that true?
Genie's Wienies is gone, most of the stores on Conant have changed or are gone, the yearly Hamtramck festival shrank to almost nothing, what else has changed? How's Detroit?
I kind of regret that I didn't see more of America while I was there, it's funny, but as the saying goes "You don't know what you have until you lose it."
