Dwight L. Resh, 82 of Hanover passed away peacefully at York North Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center on Sunday, July 20, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of the late Victoria A. (Laughman) Resh.

Born June 9, 1943 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Charles N. and Bernadine L. (Rhodes) Resh.

Mr. Resh is fondly remembered as a servant of his community.  He served a long career in transportation, working as a driver for Lincoln Bus Lines, Southwestern School District, and as a transportation coordinator for the Cross Keys Village Brethren Home Community.  An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, and served as a Deputy Game Commissioner. He was also an integral part of the Friends of Codorus State Park, serving as a long-time member and past president.  His organizational skills were a key part of the organization’s public events.

Dwight is survived by his son, Douglas C. Resh and wife Kelly, stepdaughter Amy Mendoza and son, Duane Resh as well as six grandchildren: Kayla, Brady, Jake, Brayden, Jaxson and Parker.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Resh and his faithful dog, Bear.

A funeral service to celebrate Dwight’s life will be held on Friday, July 25th at 11am Wetzel Funeral Home; 549 Carlisle St. in Hanover.  Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Friday at the funeral home from 10am until the start of the service.
