HANOVER  -  Cindy Louise Gobrecht Mummert, 24, of 427 Race Horse Road, died Monday, Jan. 5, 1987, at Hanover General Hospital, due to a liver failure.

Born in Hanover, she was the daughter of Dean D. Gobrecht, 37 Grand Valley Road, and Sandra Anthony Sterner, 427 Race Horse Road, and the stepdaughter of Anna Mae Gobrecht and Kerry Lee Sterner.

She was a member of St. Bartholomew United Church of Christ, and a 1980 graduate of South Western High School. While attending South Western, she sang with the chorus. 

She had been employed for the last 6 months as a substitute rural carrier for the Hanover branch of the U.S. Postal Service, serving the Hanover RD 5 area. Prior to that, she was employed by Hardee's in McSherrystown. 

Surviving also are: a daughter, Tiffini Hope Mummert, and a son, Joshua Allen Mummert, both at home; three sisters, Karen M. Cramer, Spring Grove RD 2, Carol Renee Gobrecht and Kathy Lenore, both of 37 Grand Valley Road, three stepsisters, Sherry Chronister, 16 Ridge Ave.; Lorrie Ann Redding, 811 York St.; and Tricia Bechtel, 37 Grand Valley Road; three stepbrothers, Stephen Bechtel, 11 Baltimore St.; James Bechtel, Hanover RD 1; and Robert Bechtel, Jr., Centennial Ave. Extended; paternal grandparents, Sterling and Sarah Gobrecht, Westminster Road; maternal grandparents, James M. and Iva Anthony, Littlestown; step-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samual M. Sterner, Seven Valleys RD 2; and Ada M. Sell, 26 E. King St., Littlestown; a maternal great-grandmother, Helen P. Brendle, York County Hospital and Home; maternal great-grandfather, John Anthony, York County Hospital and Home; and a step-great grandmother, Mary Gotwalt, Seven Valleys RD 2. 

The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bartholomew United Church of Christ, Hanover, RD 1. Her pastor, the Rev. Dennis Weidler, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetary. 

Viewings will be Wednesday evening at the Panabaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. 

Pallbearers will be Tony Hoff, Mike Hoff, Craig Becker, Eugene Worley, Gary Lee Worley and Robert Bechtel Jr.
