Mr. Richard Benning was born on Monday, January 4, 1960 in Appling, GA to Ms. Elizabeth “Sue” Benning and the late Mr. Clyde Jones. He departed this earthly life on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the University Hospital in Augusta, GA at the age of 61. Richard was educated in the Columbia County School System of Georgia and graduated with the Harlem High School Class of 1978. He was baptized at the age of 12 at the Rehoboth Baptist Church of Appling, GA. Richard worked for various employers and was an expert Carpenter for over 20 years. He leaves behind to forever cherish his memories: a mother, Ms. Elizabeth Benning of Appling, GA; three aunts, Mrs. Mary Benning, Mrs. Jannie (Mr. Cornelious) Green, all of Appling, GA and Ms. Jennie Harris of Gary, IN; one uncle, Mr. Edward (Mrs. Lucille) Jones of Appling, GA; a special cousin who was like a sister, Ms. Linda Benning of Appling, GA; a devoted friend, Mr. Clinton Rickerson of Appling, GA; a host of additional cousins, other relatives and many additional sorrowing friends.
