Harvey Martin

Burkholder Funeral Home Inc., 16th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. Interment, private. No calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Denise M. Martin Memorial Fund for the care of melanoma cancer patients, c/o St. Lukes Hospital, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem 18015. J.S. Burkholder

Harvey had 2 children, Ryan (stepson) and Jonathan.  He had a small collection of classic cars including two ferrari’s, a 60’s Camaro muscle car and loved his weekend rides on his Harley.

He was a rep for a surgical instrument company and was a detailed, diligent and professional rep whose clients relied upon for his expertise.  Harvey’s wife, Denise, was the true love of his life and they were a great duo.  Her death from cancer was devastating and Harvey was heartbroken.  He was tragically killed just six months after Denise when he was struck by a car while jogging near his home.

Harvey was a loving father, a devoted and loving husband.  He was “my brother from another mother”.  We were best friends and “brothers” since we were 6 years old.  Harvey was a compulsive worker and I always teased him that he was always saving and never spending.  Our plans for growing old as best friends were to do all the stuff he was putting off.  Whenever I am off on another adventure in my life, I always think that Harvey would have enjoyed doing/seeing this.  That is why I say I will miss my best friend the rest of my life.

So glad that both he & his wife got to attend one of our earlier reunions. It was great catching up with him.

I miss my best friend every day.

He was a good one.

He was a "classy guy" and so missed
