Derek passed away due to an accidental overdose in 2004. He is survived by his parents, Charles N. Fought of Mount Clemens and Dianne (Lorne) Childers of Macomb Township. He was predeceased by his brother Matthew Fought who also passed away in 2004 at the age of 30.
