Rosalynd King Obituary

Rosalynd L. King, 48 of Hartford, peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. She was the loving daughter of Clarke King and Loretta (Byrd) King of Hartford. Born in Hartford on August 5, 1965, Rosalynd graduated from South Catholic High School in 1983. While working part time at the Hartford Public Library during high school and after graduation, Rosalynd became very interested in library science. After receiving her associate's degree from Central Connecticut State University, she was offered a full time position as a library assistant. She enjoyed 14 years of service at the Hartford Public Library before medical challenges prevented her from working. Rosalynd was a beautiful lady with gentle kindness and quick wit. During her leisure time she enjoyed listening to an eclectic mix of musical genres as well as reading any book she could hold in her hands. In addition to her parents, her memory is forever cherished by her brother, Clarke King, Jr. and his wife Sharon of New Jersey, a special cousin alongside whom she was raised, Andrew Schwapp of Avon, as well as a host of loving cousins, aunts, and uncles in the King, Byrd and Schwapp families. Rosalynd was predeceased by her grandparents, a dear cousin, Asaph Schwapp, and an aunt, Lila Byrd. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor with burial following in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. A special thank you is extended to both Dr. Pazooki and his staff at Medical Oncology & Blood Disorders, LLP and Masonicare Home Health & Hospice for their compassionate care and many kindnesses.
