Mark LaBonte Obituary



Mark A. LaBonté, 51, of South Windsor, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Born in Hartford to Roland LaBonté and the late Rose LaBonté, he was raised in Hartford and has been a South Windsor resident for over 27 years. As a young man, he was active in Boy Scouts and served as an Assistant Scout Leader with Troop 10, Hartford. Mark served his country with the US Army National Guard, in the 712th Maintenance Co., and worked as an electronic technician for the State of CT DEEP. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in South Windsor and volunteered as a CCD teacher. Mark loved to read and was very fond of animals, especially his beagles, and enjoyed running in 5Ks, half marathons and full marathons. He was an assistant coach for his childrens' sports teams and he was an avid Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers fan, though his favorite athletes were his three children. A loving son, husband, father, neighbor and friend, he will be dearly missed. Besides his father Roland, Mark is survived by his wife Tammy Lynn LaBonté of South Windsor; his son John LaBonté of South Windsor; his daughters Kaitlyn and Michelle LaBonté, both of South Windsor; his brothers Michael LaBonté and his wife Kelly of Newington and Paul Hoff and his wife Millie of Hartford; his mother and father in law Lenny and Ellie Glasser of South Windsor; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Glasser of WI; his brothers-in-law Ted McIntire and his wife Mary of Framingham, MA and Matthew Glasser of Manchester; and many special nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters Deborah Silva and Nancy Moreaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Monday, August 15 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd South Windsor followed by burial in Center Cemetery, South Windsor. His family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14 from 3 PM to 6 PM at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd South Windsor.
