Brenda Brenda Foster of Hartford, CT, departed this life on February 3, 2011. She was born in Raleigh, NC, on November 29, 1951. As a young child she moved north with her family to Hartford, CT. She attended the Hartford Public School system and Greater Hartford Community College where she studied Early Childhood Education. She was employed at the Bloomfield Early Learning Center for twenty-four years. Brenda enjoyed working with children and families. Brenda was a member of The Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church in Hartford. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Jarvis Foster, Jr., and Emma Jean Pemberton–Foster. She is survived by her husband, Nathaniel Williams, her two children, Lolithea Lewis (husband Percival) and Attorney Corrie Foster (wife Dawn); her five grandchildren; Asha, Brandon, Alexis, Cameron and Camille, her four great-grandchildren; Ashaad, Madison, Promyse, and Brandon. She also leaves to mourn her passing her nine siblings; Eddie, Octavia, Debbie, Gregory, April, Jarvis Bernard (Pete), Sharon, Bobby and Jarvis III. Her aunts Shirley Young, Patricia Hibbert, and Phyllis Steves. She will be missed by all. Viewing will be held Wednesday, (February 9, 2011), at Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, 45 Acton Street, Hartford, CT, from 11-12 noon, immediately followed by the home-going service. Service to be officiated by Rev. M. Robert McKnight, Pastor of Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church. Internment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Hartford.
