Harold Newell

Harold A. Newell, 54, of West Hartford, departed this life Wednesday (October 18, 2006) at St. Francis Hospital Hartford. Born in Hartford on March 18, 1952 to Mattie (Bowens) Newell of Hartford and the late George Manning Newell. Harold was educated in the Hartford Public School System and attended the University of Connecticut. He was a member of the Mount Olive Church Ministries, Hartford, where he served as a member of the Hospitality Ministry. He was employed with St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford, for 34 years. Harold was a loving and kind person and touched the lives of many. He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Natasha Barnes, of Waterbury, her mother, Theresa Davis, of Manchester, Carrie Graham, of Coventry, and Keena Newell of Philadelphia, PA; his beloved companion, Edith Graham, of West Hartford; two grandchildren, Sheanna James and John Roscoe; four brothers, George David (Tina) of East Hartford, Earl, Steven, and Brian Timothy of Hartford; four uncles, Boise Newell of Jamaica, Sylvester Newell, of London, England, J.T. Williams and Ervin (Betty) Williams both of Greenville, SC; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold was predeceased by brothers, Leonard and Charles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 25 at 11 a.m. at the Mount Olive Church Ministries, 20 Battles St. Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery Bloomfield. Friends are invited to visit the family Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
