Jacqueline Thorpe (Grandison)

 

Jacqueline T. Grandison, 65, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Victor Grandison, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 06, 2017 at home. Born in Hartford to the late Willie and Mary (Keating) Thorpe, she has been an East Hartford resident for over 27 years. Jacqueline worked for the State of CT and recently as a medical coder for UCONN. Most important to her was her family who will miss her dearly. Besides her husband Victor of East Hartford she is survived by her sons, Tylon Davis of Bridgeport and Ryan Grandison of East Hartford; her brothers, Ronald and Robert, both of Hartford, Christopher Thorpe and his wife Rainet of Enfield, and John Paul Thorpe of Ashland, KY; her sisters, Rosemary Taylor of Lexington, KY, Willie Mae Moses and her husband Robert of Southwick, MA, and Charlene Alexander and her husband Clarence of Hartford, her sisters-in- law, Tensil and Mable of Jamaica, Hannah of Bloomfield, Fraser of Florida, Godfrey and wife Lorna of Bloomfield and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers Frank and William Michael Thorpe. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 11 at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd Windsor. Her family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 11 AM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jacqueline's name to Masonicare Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza, Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.

There  are times that we regret leaving our hometown because we don't get to see our relatives, friends, and classmates grow and mature. I remember Frank and Jackie as we traversed the halls of Weaver.
