Roosevelt Delaine, 64, of Bloomfield, passed away on November 26, 2016 after a long illness. Roosevelt was born in Cuba, AL on January 30, 1952. son of the late John Lugusta and Bernice McAboy Delaine. He graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford CT. He is a Vietnam War era veteran serving with the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1972 to 1974. Roosevelt leaves behind his wife of 18 years Gail Maxine Brown. Roosevelt worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Butler Construction for the past 10 years. One of his greatest joys was barbequing and entertaining family and friends in his home. Besides his wife Gail, he is survived by his one son Jerome Edison of Nevada, Four daughters, Amy Nichole Brown and Sierra Joy Brown of Bloomfield, Brandi Bell of Atlanta GA, and Holly Tanneyhill. Eleven Grandchildren, including Starr Funnie, five Great Grandchild., Roosevelt is also survived by his two brothers, Jimmie Lee Delaine (Sherald) of Hartford, John Delaine Jr. of Vernon; Three sisters, Genevieve Walton (Leonard) of GA, Doris Hill (Gladston) of Hartford, and Johnetta McGee of GA. Mother & Father-in-Law Willie and Dorothy Brown, Four Brother-in-Laws and a special Sister-in-law Felicia Brown; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family of Roosevelt Delaine wish to thank all that have expressed their condolences to the family. Friends may greet the family on Friday, December 2, in the chapel of the Rocky Hill Veterans Home & Health Care Center, 287 West St. from 9:00 to 9:30a.m. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 with Rev. Nash of Mount Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment with military honors will immediately follow in Colonel Raymond F. Gates Cemetery. Services are entrusted with All State Cremation & Funeral Care .

My heart is saddened to learn of another classmates passing.  My prayers and thoughts go out to Roosevelt's family.
