Susan Regina Wilson, 67, of Hartford, departed this life on October 10, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital.

Regina gave special meaning to the phrase "I did it my way" and that she did. She was independent and lived a simple life. Although she was challenged with numerous health issues, she fought the good fight. She was a worthy warrior who grew tired. Susan Regina was predeceased by her parents, Susan Lewis Wilson and Donald D. Wilson, Sr.; brother, Paul R. Lewis; and two sisters, Winsome Greenwood and Cynthia Ruth Wilson; She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Donald (Bernice) D. Wilson, Jr. of East Hartford; foster brothers Dwayne and Marcus Gordon of Hartford; and her sisters Karan R. Wilson of Vernon; Harriet Wilson Bronson of Manchester; Anne R. Wilson of Silver Spring, MD; Cynthia L. Wilson of Hartford; foster sisters Vanessa P. Haggins of Hartford, and Tammy L. Oates of Enfield; her special cousins Lakawun Boyd, East Hartford and Mark C. Taylor of Bloomfield. Regina will be missed by her nieces; Kristi, Anita, Simone, Ashley, Lauren, Jasmine and Reyna also nephews; Duane, Donald, Shaquille, Jeremiah, Clayton, Raymond, Josiah, Colton, and Zaden; her loving aunt Lena Morris, many loving cousins and special friends Lynda Lee Costen and Louise Robinson.
Susan Regina was a lifelong resident of Hartford; she was baptized as a member of the Northside Church of Christ. She attended Brackett-Northeast; Weaver High (class of 1970); Northeastern Christian Junior College, Villanova, PA and Wilfred Academy. She was formerly employed by The Travelers and briefly fulfilled her dream of being a model. She worked part-time at the now-defunct Mr. D's Disco. Thereafter and later she became a licensed hairstylist who worked at the Soul Scissors salon in the former G. Fox and Company. Regina knew how to sew, had musical talents and proficiently played the clarinet, fife, flute, and piano. She participated in the Hartford Police Activities League's (PAL) Fife and Drum Corp and was a four-year member of the Weaver High Concert Choir. Her interests included shopping and dressing to the nines, reading, solving crossword puzzles, swimming, and enjoying jazz concerts in Bushnell Park as well as watching television, Facebook, the beach, eating out, surfing the internet, spending time with her family and friends and she loved cooking, especially during the holiday season.
Our hearts grieve but we find solace that she is free.
