William Floyd

Brother William Floyd, III, 53, of Windsor, was received in the Lords arms, Sunday, (February 12, 2006) at Hartford Hospital with his loving wife by his side. William was born October 1, 1952 in Hartford to William and Betty Floyd. William attended the Hartford school systems. William served in the United States Marines Corps where he was honorably discharged. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, Ace Hardware and Farvah of Avon. He graduated from Capitol Community College top of his class Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Alcohol & Drug Rehabilitation Counselor. William leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Andrea Floyd of 16 years; his children, Aretha Floyd of Greensboro, NC, Staff Sergeant, William Floyd and his wife, Tranika of Columbus, GA, Shaunta Oglesby of Delaware, Elisha, Aaron, Emmanuel and Gabrielle Floyd of Windsor. William also leaves to cherish his memories four grandchildren, Sayvon, Brittany, Brianna and Patrick Jr. William also leaves behind his mother, Betty Floyd of Hartford; his father, William Floyd, Jr. and his stepmother, Erma Floyd of East Hartford; three sisters, Doretha Floyd of Greenville, NC, Sheila Harris of Manchester, and Lori Floyd and her fiance John Mobley of Hartford. William also leaves his father and mother-in-law, Emsly and Ida Johnson of Bloomfield; sister-in-law, Donna; brother-in-law, Maxim and Marlon Johnson. William also leaves several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins and friends. William was predeceased by his sister, Sheryl Floyd and a brother, Kenneth Floyd Sr. William was very instrumental in teaching children the art of martial arts. William also took the time to minister to people when his health would allow him to. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 22, at 10 a.m., viewing 11 a.m. service at Fuqua Funeral Home, 94 Granby St., Bloomfield. Burial at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
