Juliet Ann Spyke, 51, of Bloomfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday (April 26, 2012) surrounded by her family at her home. She was born February 28, 1961 in St. Mary, Jamaica to Pearline (McFarlane) Spyke and the late Sydney G. Spyke. Juliet had immigrated to the United States in 1969 and had lived the past 15 years in Bloomfield. For the past 14 years, she was employed by Conning & Company in Hartford. Juliet was a very sociable woman who loved to listen and dance to music. She was always the life of the party, and was loved by many. A loving mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, she will be extremely missed by all who knew her. In addition to her mother she leaves her children, Everal Spyke of Bloomfield; Kareem Forbes of Bloomfield; Tanya Hastings of East Hartford; Kimberly Forbes of Bloomfield; her brothers, Sydney, Glen and Dexter Spyke, all of Hartford; Clement Spyke of Bloomfield; her sisters, Hortense, Rosalie and Jacqueline Spyke all of Hartford; Yolanda Spyke of Florida; Loraine Edman of Bloomfield; and Sandra Robinson of Windsor. She also leaves ten grandchildren, Nehki, Daleir, Dasani, Everal Jr. and Trayvon Spyke, Taylor Jones, Shania Sweetland, Nyshawn and Jayla Forbes, and Kiara Roberts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m. at the North United Methodist Church, 1205 Albany Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family will receive friends on Friday, May 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor and again from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
