We regret to announce the passing of Lonald (Lonnie) L. Lewis, 57, of Hartford, Connecticut, on December 26, 2024. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.
Lonnie was predeceased by his father, Eddie L. Lewis, Jr. and paternal grandmother, Eula Lewis.
He is survived by his grandmother Carrie Watts, mother Patricia Jennings, stepfather Michael Jennings, siblings Duane, Aliha and Benjamin, nieces Teovah, Sheliha, D'Mauria, and Shakaria, nephews Marlon, Sheldon, and Duane Jr., grandnieces Zuri, and Zhania, grandnephews Zaiden, Jaylenn, and Juelz, and numerous extended family members.
Lonnie grew up in Hartford and graduated from Weaver High, class of 1985. In 1990, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina,where he pursued his love of performing arts. He worked at Dunkin Donuts, retiring from The Travelers Insurance.
At an early age, Lonnie accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Mt Calvary Baptist Church Youth Choir. Lonnie loved to sing, which he did constantly and loudly, around the house, in the car, any and everywhere. He was known to put his own spin on the lyrics of a song. Lonnie had a passion for singing and was a prolific lyricist
Lonnie will be deeply missed by his devoted family, friends, godbrother Byron Davis, and his beloved fur babies, Jasper and Isiah.
Lonald Lamont Lewis will forever be Loved and Remembered.
