
Marvin Clay Mathis, Sr.
MATHIS, Marvin Clay, Sr., 40, of Hartford, departed this life Sunday (September 9, 2007). He was born on April 20, 1967 in Richland, GA. He was educated in the Hartford school system and graduated from Weaver High School in 1985. He enlisted in the National Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1992. Marvin was employed by the Connecticut Student Loan Foundation (CSLF) for 20 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted companion Donna Marie Grant, their son Marvin Clay Mathis, Jr. of Hartford. His loving parents, Henry and Barbara Ann Mathis of Hartford; a sister Sylvia Lawson; five brothers, Leonard, Willie (Valerie), Michael, Mark (Ilsa) and Marcus (Kimberly) all of Connecticut. A dear friend Charles Robinson, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be on Saturday, September 15, 9-10 a.m. with service to follow at Phillips Metropolitan Church, Hartford. Clark Bell & Bell has care of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made in care of Marvin Mathis Jr. College Fund, People's Bank.
