i was attempting to do homework; had the expected shoebox size portable radio on to a NYC station and is just faded off.  I thought the batteries were. Gone so went downstairs to find more.  My mom was starting dinner and she was standing watching the burners on the stove go from hot red to black as the lights dimmed to nothing.  There was a HUGE full moon. My sister in law was on the subway going home to Riverdale and had to walk the tracks to the next station.   Power came back during the night and I swear every light in our house came on.
