Darnelle Lee (Steging) Peters passed away at Graham Hospital in Canton on Saturday, September 4, 2021.  She was born September 20, 1960 in Springfield, Illinois to Marvin and Mary Jo (Unruh) Steging.  She married Randall Peters on October 3, 1980,  in Havana.  He survives.

Darnelle is survived by her husband, of Lewistown, 2 sons: Joseph Dale (Jesse) Peters, and David Isiaha (Dezaray) Peters, 5 grandchildren, Gracie Mae, Ave Marie, Brylee Sue, Halie Rae, and Ethan David, as well as 2 sisters: Renee (Robert) Hayes of Edwards, Illinois, and Julie (Roger) Seifert, of Petersburg.  She was preceded in death by her father and grandmother, Josephine Unruh. 

Darnelle enjoyed flowers, gardening and canning.  She was well known to be an excellent cook.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
